What Makes Ayrshire Stone Special

Locally Sourced

Every stone we use is hand collected from within Ayrshire meaning each piece is rooted in its place of origin and carries the character of this Scottish land.

A Natural Story

The rocks of Ayrshire include agate jasper bloodstone and quartz each formed over millions of years through the movement of glaciers heat and pressure deep beneath the surface. These processes create rich colours intriguing patterns and unique mineral formations that make every stone one of a kind.

A Legacy of Craft

Traditional lapidary techniques combined with modern tools are used to cut polish and reveal the beauty hidden within Ayrshire’s stones. Whether shaped into jewellery keepsakes or artistic pieces every stone reflects skilled Scottish craftsmanship.

Stones of Place and Meaning

Nestled in the rolling hills and rugged landscapes of Ayrshire Scotland the stones we work with carry the story of this land.

Born from ancient geological forces these gems and rocks are foraged locally from Ayrshire’s earth shaped by ice age movements and centuries of weathering and intimately connected to local history and craft.

At Born and Raised Ayrshire we do not just make products we celebrate the unique journey of Ayrshire stone from the ground to your hands.

About

My work is rooted in a growing fascination with gemstones and the stories they carry. What began as curiosity has become a way of looking more closely at the stones beneath our feet and the meaning they hold.

I love sharing different forms of videos on my YouTube channel, including the process of cutting stones, exploring their natural character, and reflecting on what draws me to them. This short video introduces that interest, sharing a few of the stones that sparked it and why they continue to draw me in.
